Battle System Explained


Today i want you to show a bit more of the battle system!

It is not a turn based system like many suspected! Because of the UI, which isnt ready yet i didnt include it in the trailer so it's my own fault:-D!

Here is a full battle, which show some of the strategic elements:

The main concept is to move forward on the ATB bar to the end to perform an action. Taking damage throws you back or even can cancel your current skill.

If you arrive at the last third of the bar you can choose a command.

Some commands like using an item are immediate actions and do not need preparation. For that you jump to the end of the ATB bar.

Skills have always a prepare time. The blobs sparkle when preparing a skill until they reach the end of the ATB bar. During that time they are more vulnerable to damage and can even be canceled!

Defending throws you at first back on the ATB bar but also heals some energy. You will take half damage and cannot be thrown back on the ATB bar while defending. So when you notice a enemy blob almost finished preparing its attack you should better defend and not start prepare a skill! You do not want to take heavy damage or  even be canceled!

There are more elements to the battle system, but i think that explains it for the start!
